Solidarity Celebration

World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival aims to strengthen the pride in the city’s history and culture. It also promotes friendship and diversity between countries and serves as a great venue for forging ties and understanding through community’s involvement in the city’s various activities that highlights love for culture, arts and entertainment.

Every September, our city of Vigan celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. We celebrate it by having some competitions such as Zarzuela Ilocana, Daniw, Sabayang Pagbigkas, Puppetry and Folk Dance. We have also the History on Parade or the “Repazzo de Vigan” an interactive street parade showcasing the colorful periods of Vigan’s history, ‘Kinnantaran, vocal solo, vocal duet and vocal chorus.

It is important to celebrate our solidarity to strengthen the unity of Ilocanos and the pride in the history and culture of our beloved city, our Vigan city.
