ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS MONTH

Every November, we celebrate the month of environmental awareness The celebration aimed to raise awareness on issues involving the environment. Its organizers envisioned a sustained education and information campaign through activities and events that promote environmental programs and activities.

As we grow up, we have seen a lot of changes in our environment. The climate is changing. Forests are burning. The air is polluted. We, as a human, we have our responsibilities to protect our environment. We need to keep it clean so that we can live peacefully and it gives us fresh air to breathe.

As Paje said, “Everyone needs to be aware of the impact of their actions because the success and failure of environmental programs and the overall condition of our environment lie on small, personal acts that accumulate over time,”.

CHILDREN'S MONTH

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) adopted on 20 November 1989 is the first legally binding universal treaty solely dedicated to the promotion and protection of children’s rights. It sets out the rights that must be realized for every child – the rights to survival, development, protection, and participation. It offers a vision of the child as an individual and as a member of a family and community, with rights and responsibilities appropriate to his or her age and stage of development.

As they grow up, there’s a lot of curiosities that they what to know and there’s a lot of things that they want to experience and what we need to do is to support them. We should give their needs. We should give our attention to them. We should love them, take care of them because it is the only way to raise them properly.

VALUES MONTH

In the month of November, the ESP club celebrates the Values Month with a theme “Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin: Susi sa paghubog ng kabataang Makadiyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa”. Based on the theme, it is all about strengthening our Pilipino Family.

Celebrating values month is to create moral awakening and national consciousness on human values that are unique, genuine and positively Filipino. In this generation and for the next generation, I am proud to be a Filipino because we are known for being hospitable, kind and helpful. Having those attitudes help us to treat others nicely.

Celebrating Values month reminds us those good values and I hope that it will remain in us.

International Year of Indigenous Languages

On the 24th of October, we celebrated the United Nations Day. The United Nations declared 2019 The Year of Indigenous Languages in order to raise awareness of them, not only to benefit the people who speak this languages, but also for others to appreciate the important contribution they make to our world’s rich cultural diversity.

In our school, we celebrated the United Nations Day by having some activities such as spoken word poetry. There is also a pageant for this event. Languages play a crucial role in our daily lives, not only as a tool for communication, education, social integration and development, but also as a repository for each person’s unique identity, cultural history, traditions and memory. But despite their immense value, languages around the world continue to disappear at an alarming rate.

As Roger Bacon said, “Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom”.
