PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
This quarter, we had a review on how to use Photoshop. I learned to self study our lesson because our teachers are very busy sometimes. I also experienced making a layout although I'm not good in using Photoshop, i can ask my classmates for help and I am thankful for having them as my classmates.I will keep this lesson in my mind and i will bring it to the future. I am thankful to learn these lessons.
FOUNDATION DAY
The Foundation Day is the most anticipated event of the
school for boundless activities awaits the students. Preparations started in
the fullness of time. Great excitement filled the students when the day they
have long anticipated has finally come.
The 118th ISNHS Day usually celebrates on the first week of March. Students were thrilled to perform their fully prepared
presentations for the field demonstration. Day 1 of the event was spent for the
Coronation Day wherein a new king and queen are formally crowned, together with
the 1st to 9th princes and princesses that were also given their recognition.
The second day then started with the parade of the students and after which, the
students were given time to rest and prepare for the field demo. The various
activities lined up for the event were commenced superbly. Speeches of school
authorities were heard as they enumerated school accomplishments and their
goals and plans for the coming years.
The Foundation Day was filled with fun and joy. It is the time of celebrating the founding of our school that became our second home. Aim High, Fly, Soar. Ilocos Sur National Highschool.
MAKE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE
Everyone has dreams. Whether
they be to become a scientist and discover new and amazing things, or become a
star basketball player and be the highest paid player in the league, people
dream about their future. I have dreams for the future just like everyone else.
Dreams of the good life, with lots of money, hot girls, and fast cars! And I
will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
College is my first step to achieve my dream. Currently I am a student in high school. I do my best to keep my grades up, because I know that they will help me into college. Outside of my job, I plan to buy a large home. I dream of settling down in an urban area, someplace that's not too big. A Stockton type of town, but not Stockton. Possibly Monterey or Carmel. Hopefully by the time I get a house and have a peaceful life.

As you can see, I have big plans for my future. I plan to make something of
myself, and not to give up. I have a major fear of failure, and I won't let it
get to me. My parents expect a lot out of me, and I think I have done a good
job so far. My dreams are what keep me going; they are an object for me to
strive for. I will obtain that object one day.

KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL
The old and the new in Ilocano culture are both featured in this
year’s Kannawidan Ylocos Festival - the festival of Ilocos Sur that
celebrates its being a separate province and its being a treasure chest of
traditions and culture.
Held in the Heritage City of Vigan from January 28 to February
17, the festival opened with the residents’ expression of gratitude
to the blessings of God on January 28. Government workers from
national and local offices, public officials and members of non-government-organizations
united in the Holy Mass concelebrated at Saint Paul Cathedral in this city and
the procession afterwards. As people of faith in the Christian world, Ilocanos
are gathered in their religious events on special feast days of patron saints.
The festival is also a show of the province’s trade and
agriculture products, and is a livelihood training ground for women and
students through the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of
Agriculture.
Meanwhile, members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender
community will have their night not only to celebrate their culture but also to
shout out their advocacy to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
To show how part of the culture of the people of Ilocos Sur has
modified through the years, the festival offers these activities to
the new generation: dance craze, battle of the bands, Mr Kannawidan
muscle showdown, Search for Saniata, car and motorcycle show, street dancing
and showdown that show off the one-town-one-products of the 34 towns and cities
of the province, horse racing, chef wars, rodeo fiesta, game fowl and pigeon
expo, rhythm festival,3rd Gov Ryan Singson Motrocross Cup, Kannawidan Mini
Fwd Race, karambola, and drag race, among others.

VIGAN FESTIVAL
The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. It is celebrated
during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is
Vigan City’s patron saint. Before his conversion, St. Paul was known as Saul, a
zealous persecutor of Christians. After he was touched by a personal encounter
with Jesus Christ on his way to Damascus, his name was changed to Paul and he
endured a lot of hardships and danger to spread the word of God to far places.
Vigan’s
main church, the Metropolitan Cathedral is dedicated to St. Paul and it stands at the core of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. The major Catholic educational institution in Vigan that stands beside the church is also dedicated to the patron, the St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur. The Vigan City Fiesta usually lasts for several days. It includes within the period the celebration of the anniversary of the cityhood of Vigan, which is commemorated every January 27.
Biguenos attribute this to the fact that the making of Vigan longganisa is a centuries-old tradition of the local makers and all if not most of the ingredients used in making the native sausage is sourced from Vigan. Vigan’s garlic and sugarcane vinegar are said to be more strongly flavorful. It’s a great take-home gift after partaking in a Vigan City Fiesta.

new year, new me
It’s about that time of year again. I can feel it all around. 2020 is coming to a close and
people are creating their list of do’s for 2016. People
are going to work out more next year! They are going to attend church every
Sunday. Learn how to cook, be adventurous, put themselves out there more, find
a boyfriend, find a girlfriend, have no more regrets, create memories, blah
blah blah. “New year, new me.” But is it really?
Before the clock strikes midnight, it’s as if there is magic in the air.
Everyone’s hopes are so high and they just can’t wait for 2020 to roll itself
in. Because a new year automatically means you are going to be a different
person. I mean why wouldn’t it? You have thrown your new year’s
resolutions to the universe and you know they will be granted 12:01 a.m. on
2020.
It’s good to want to strive to be a better person
and I understand that the New Year is a great way to try something “different.”
But, don’t put too much pressure on yourself to accomplish your New Year’s
Resolution. That’s why these resolutions are quit sooo quickly; as fast as
people go all in they go all out. Pace yourself! Create a reasonable New Year’s
Resolution. Don’t strive to be a billionaire in 2016 when you are only a thousand
ire in 2019.

ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS IS LOVE!
In this month of December, it is a must for
us to remember that our Lord came in this world in order to save us from our
sins; He came to redeem us from the wickedness of this world.
The essence of celebrating
Christmas season is not to have a house full of Christmas lights, having a tall and
beautiful Christmas tree full of gifts underneath it
and giving expensive
gifts. Christmas basically means sharing what you have, not just
the material things but also those that can only be felt like a warm, tight
hug, a simple thank you, showing our appreciation to our loved ones and forgiveness among others.
“Best of all, Christmas means a
spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men
should prevail over all hatred and bitterness, a time when our thoughts and
deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God.” George F.
McDougall.
